Smartphones To Be Released In 2023: From Apple To Samsung

From the new iPhone 15 to the Galaxy S23, Xiaomi 13, Galaxy A54, OnePlus 11, and many more. What will the smartphones of 2023 be like? Surely Apple, Samsung, Google, Xiaomi, OnePlus, Motorola, Oppo, Honor, and many others will announce the new models of the most famous series.

Still, there could also be some surprises that nobody expects yet. 2022 has been a year of transition, during which we have seen improvements in the design and some technologies of the devices. 2023 should instead be a more important year for new smartphones, with ever more powerful machines.

The trends speak of a more significant presence of screens with QHD+ resolution, therefore even more defined screens and rapid recharges that could reach 150W. Some 2023 smartphones could even recharge in a few minutes.

Most of the top-of-the-range Android smartphones of 2023 are expected to receive the powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor. As always, the iPhone 15 will have Apple’s new proprietary processor. For those wondering which smartphone to buy in 2023, here is a rundown of the devices that will come out during the year, together with the first rumors about the release, datasheet, and features.

Samsung Galaxy S23, S23 Plus And S23 Ultra

The new top-of-the-range smartphones from Samsung will usher in 2023 and, as always, are eagerly awaited by enthusiasts. Here are all the leaks available so far:

Models:

As always, there will be three, therefore Samsung Galaxy S23, S23 Plus, and S23 Ultra.

Samsung Galaxy S23 release and price:

The new models are expected to hit the market during February 2023. The prices are not definitive and could change according to the variants and internal memory cuts. The price is close to that of the launch of the Galaxy S22, with the basic model of Galaxy S23, which could start from 879 euros, to reach the Galaxy S23 Ultra, starting from 1,689 euros.

Display and design:

New unofficial renderings have revealed how the new models could be aesthetic. The design is quite similar to what was seen on the Galaxy S22 Plus, albeit more minimal, with a flat-screen and thin frames, in addition to the now classic hole on display for the front camera. Galaxy S23 could therefore have a 6.1-inch screen, which rises to 6.6 inches for the S23 Plus version. The S23 Ultra screen, on the other hand, will be 6.8 inches large, probably curved on all sides.

Cameras:

The big news could be exclusive to the S23 Ultra, a new 200-megapixel camera. Galaxy S23 and S23 Plus could instead have a 12-megapixel selfie camera, more performing than the 10-megapixel one of the previous generation.

Processor:

All the latest rumors (including a tweet from the leaker Ice universe ) point to the fact that the new Galaxy S23 will have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor in Europe and worldwide, even an exclusive enhanced version for these new one’s Samsung smartphones. They could therefore have a peak frequency of 3.36 GHz, resulting in more performance than the same processors mounted on other Android smartphones.

Samsung A14, A34 And A54

Not only top-of-the-range Samsung smartphones: many enthusiasts are also waiting for mid-range ones. Samsung has focused a lot on this segment in recent years and will continue to do so with the new models of the Galaxy A series. Currently, there is information about these models:

  1. Galaxy A14: known by the serial number SM-A146B, it will have 5G connectivity, probably a 6.8-inch Full HD + screen, and triple rear cameras.
  2. Galaxy A34: It is under development and known as SM-A346B. It should have a triple camera with a 48-megapixel primary sensor and Exynos 1380 processor. It could come out during the first months of 2023.
  3. Galaxy A54: it is undoubtedly the most awaited. Currently known as the SM-A546B, it could introduce a more powerful 50-megapixel primary sensor on the back. The first renders of this highly anticipated device have also been released, shared by OnLeaks, a source that is usually not wrong. The images show a Galaxy A54 with thinner front edges, a central hole that houses the front camera, and a triple rear camera. The depth sensor is missing.

iPhone 15 And iPhone 15 Pro

Immediately after the iPhone 14 family was put on the market, rumors arrived about the new models that will come in 2023, i.e., iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Pro, and a probable iPhone 15 Ultra. Here are the key innovations of the new Apple smartphones that millions of enthusiasts around the world are anxiously awaiting:

Models:

The 2023 iPhone 15s will likely be four with either 6.1-inch or 6.7-inch screens. The design of the new iPhones should stay the same compared to the iPhone 14 family. On the one hand, the less expensive iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus (or Max); on the other, the iPhone 15 Pro and probably the iPhone 15 Ultra with a higher price and features.

iPhone 15 release and price:

The new models will most likely be available during autumn 2023, as per tradition, at an even higher price than the current generation of iPhones. iPhone 15 Ultra would therefore replace a possible iPhone 15 Pro Max, as reported by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman. There is talk of an even more resistant iPhone with a titanium body, a very light material.

USB-C Port:

All new iPhone 15s will have a USB-C port for charging and ditching the Lightning connector. Apple will therefore obey the European directives, equipping the new iPhones with this universal connector, to the delight of many enthusiasts who can use power supplies and accessories already in their possession. In a tweet by analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, it is assumed that only the iPhone 15 Pro and higher will offer USB 3.2 or Thunderbolt 3 connections, therefore faster for transferring large video files or ProRAW photos. iPhone 15 instead should have a USB-C port with speeds compliant with USB 2.0, just like the Lightning port.

Cameras:

From a photographic point of view, the iPhone 15 Ultra may be the only model to mount a periscope lens, according to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. It is a technology that offers optical zoom capabilities that exceed those possible with a standard telephoto lens, allowing for 5x or even 10x zoom.

Processors:

The iPhone 15 and iPhone Plus models will most likely use the A16 Bionic processor, also seen in the iPhone 14. The novelty will be all within the Pro and Ultra models, which will almost certainly mount the Apple A17 Bionic, built for the first time with a 3 nm process by TSMC.

Xiaomi 13 And 13 Pro (Or Xiaomi 14?)

The Chinese manufacturer will most likely reveal the new top-of-the-range smartphones,  Xiaomi 13  and  13 Pro, by the end of 2022, at least in China, as happened last year with the  Xiaomi 12. The release in Europe could take place between March and April 2023.

In reality, the latest rumors say that the Chinese manufacturer will skip the 13 denomination and directly present the Xiaomi 14 range. The number 13 is considered lucky for some, while it is a sign of bad luck for others. Even the first images of the Xiaomi 14 box appeared on the Chinese social network Weibo.

From the information learned from the Chinese certification body 3C, the base model (Xiaomi 13 or 14) will probably have a 6.2-inch OLED display, triple rear camera, and 4.820mAh battery. The most advanced model (Xiaomi 13 Pro or Xiaomi 14 Pro) should instead have a 6.65-inch LTPO OLED screen, triple Leica cameras of 50.3 + 50 + 50 megapixels, and a 4,800 mAh battery. The two devices will mount the new and very powerful  Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor and the Android 13 operating system.

Google Pixel 8 And 8 Pro

Although the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro have only recently been available on the market, the successor Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro are already being discussed. The insider Roland Quandt Hon Win Future says in fact, that he has come into possession of information regarding these new Google smartphones that will be released in 2023.

Currently, the two phones are known by the code names of Husky and Shiba and will likely be classic smartphones, so it is yet to be the time for flexible Pixels. They will probably have Android 14 as their operating system and a new generation proprietary processor. Both smartphones are expected to have 12GB of RAM. Other than this, there is no additional information, so we will have to wait.

Motorola Edge 40, Edge 40 Pro, and RAZR 2023

The 2022 Edge 30, Edge 30 ProandEdge 30 Ultra models have been very successful. Motorola wants to replicate its lucky period with its new top of the 2023 range, i.eEdge 40 and Edge 40 Pro, but there will also be room for two new foldables, the RAZR 2023 and another mysterious device.

The existence of the development of these devices has been leaked through the well-known leaker Evan Blass, who has unveiled an accurate roadmap of future Motorola smartphones. Behind the code name “Bronco,” the Motorola Edge 40 would be hidden, with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 or Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 processor inside, 8 or 12 GB of RAM, and a triple camera with a 50 cm primary sensor megapixel.

With the code name “Canyon,” the Motorola Edge 40 Pro is identified, which will undoubtedly have the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, an improved triple camera, and up to 12 GB of RAM. Not only that: there are also rumors about next year’s new leaflets.

Evan Blass also reported that in 2023 we would see not one, but even two, flexible smartphones, successors to the already excellent razor in 2022. The first will be RAZR 2023, while there has yet to be any information on the second. They are currently known by the code names “Juno” and “Venus.”

OnePlus 11

Regarding the OnePlus 11, several important news emerged from the rumors. OneLeaks, after publishing the first unofficial renderings, reported that the successor to the  OnePlus 10 Pro will be released between January and March 2023, which will be called OnePlus 11  (without the “Pro” suffix). Don’t worry because the OnePlus 11 will still have top-of-the-range specifications.

It will most likely mount a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor and a rear shell even in ceramic, unlike the previous versions, which were in glass or plastic. The frame, on the other hand, should be made of metal. Another novelty could be the speed of the internal memory. OnePlus 11 could have UFS 4.0 memories, up to twice as fast as the current 3.1.

Sony Xperia 10V

Sony’s next mid-range smartphone in 2023 will likely be the Xperia 10 V, leaked in a Sumaho Digest report. The device is expected to have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 processor and a 6.1-inch Full HD+ OLED screen, but it’s still being determined. RAM could increase to 6GB with 128GB of internal storage, while the battery could be 5,150mAh with 30W fast charging.

The smartphone will likely again have a triple camera setup with a 12-megapixel primary sensor and secondary lenses . from 8 megapixels. This roundup of the best smartphones coming out in 2023 ends here: obviously, the list of devices that will be available on the market is much longer.

From the probable Honor 80, 80 Pro, and 80 SE, passing through Oppo Reno 9 and the future  Galaxy Fold five and Flip 5, to the next Vivo X90 Pro +, X90 Pro, and X90, enthusiasts will be able to choose from many models. Regarding these and other 2023 smartphones, information is slowly leaking out. We will update this article with new rumors and information on new smartphones that will be released in 2023.
