The Google Pixel Is Enriched With New Features
A Feature Drop has just fallen, and it is full of new features that will bring a unique experience to users of the Mountain View company’s smartphones. We tell you everything about the new features deployed on the Google Pixel. The Mountain View firm is constantly reinventing itself, and if this involves the launch of new, ever more efficient smartphones, it remembers its old models, updating them regularly.
Google has thus announced a new Feature Drop for June, an update reserved for its Pixels, which provides new features for all models ranging from Pixel 4a to Pixel 7 Pro, according to Frandroid. Its deployment began a few days ago and should continue soon. We give you a little recap of what awaits you if you are the lucky owner of a smartphone made by Google.
What’s In Store For June’s Pixel Feature Drop?
Enhanced Security
One of the major updates of this Feature Drop is the improvement of Google Assistant, which you can now ask to schedule security checks. Objective: to allow you to go out with more peace of mind. You can ask your Google Assistant to launch a security check for 30 minutes, for example, and at the end of the time limit, if you have not responded, your loved ones registered as emergency contacts will be warned and notified of your position in real time.
But that’s not all; your security also extends to your vehicle. The “car accident detection” functionality is improved with this Feature Drop, which can now notify your loved ones in case of a problem. In addition to alerting the authorities and emergency services, your Google Pixel can also share your position and notify your emergency contacts in the event of an accident.
Your Camera Reinvents Itself
Notice to apprentice photographers, two good news is coming with the June Feature Drop. The first: if you are the lucky owner of a Pixel 7 Pro, know that it is now compatible with a macro focus for your videos. An improvement that will allow you to capture moments more real than life, in the minor details, when you film up close.
The second good news is for owners of a Google Pixel 6 or more recent model: taking time-lapse photos with a single wave of the hand is now possible. Indeed, simply by raising the palm of your hand, you can trigger a self-timer of 3 or 10 seconds, set beforehand. Enough to give you time to strike a pose, too, in the family photos.
Wallpapers And Adapted Recharge
Do you have a model from the Pixel 6 or Pixel 7 series, and you want to boost your wallpapers? It is now possible! Google is rolling out new cinematic wallpapers to its latest Pixel smartphones. Thanks to artificial intelligence, these will now be able to transform your photos into animated 3D memories for a breathtaking rendering. And that’s not all; you can also set live wallpapers from a combination of emojis corresponding to your current mood.
Your wallpapers have never represented you better than with this latest update. It’s not just wallpapers that Google decides to improve with the help of AI. The brand is going to extend the battery life of your Pixel through the use of artificial intelligence. Therefore, this new adaptive charging feature will be based on previous recharges to determine whether to plan, for example, a relatively long charging session.
Other Features
- Improvements for Recorder: transcriptions are simplified, possibility to search for a speaker in a recording, etc.
- Faster access to smart home controls: Now you’ll have access to controls for your home devices right from your lock screen with the Google Home app.
- Less intense vibration: Vibration intensity will be reduced when haptics determine your Pixel is on a hard, flat surface, such as a table.
In short, it’s a multitude of new features and tools that you will soon be able to find on your Google Pixel for improved performance and experience.
