What Are The Best Touch Tablets To Buy?

Even though the craze around the best tablets has gradually dissipated over the years, many users still appreciate them. Whether working, consuming multimedia content, playing mobile games, or browsing the web, they generally offer a better experience than smartphones. That said, deciding between the different models on the market is not so simple… To help you choose, here is our comparison of the best tablets for the start of 2023.

The Best Touch Tablets

There are different types of best tablets. Some will be suitable for office workers and students (allowing, among other things, to add a keyboard). Others will be more oriented toward consuming video content and meeting daily needs through various mobile applications.

Also, not all use the same operating system and therefore do not have the same connectivity options. Finally, prices vary significantly from one model or brand to another. To help as many users as possible make the right choice, we have selected a diverse panel of touch pads to establish this ranking.

Samsung Galaxy Tab Difficulty to compete with the performance of Apple devices in the tablets market. Only Samsung can compete with the Apple brand. To be convinced, see what the Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra tablet offers! This sizable digital slate (screen size: 14.6 inches) is also robust.

It features a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor, one of the best chips for Android devices. The device can run the vast majority of Play Store applications without difficulty. The only more efficient CPUs are the Appel M1 and M2 chips (but we will return to this).

As for the interface and finishes, there is nothing to complain about. Samsung offers us, for once, a high-quality AMOLED touchscreen. The contrasts are well-marked, the refresh rate is excellent (120 Hz), and the brightness is there. As a bonus, it is compatible with the S-Pen of the Galaxy Note range.

The only downside is autonomy! Indeed, this machine is energy-intensive and will only last you a day of sustained use. Fortunately, the battery is recharged quickly (provided you have a fast charger). S8 Ultra: the best among Android tablets.

This touchpad can occasionally replace a PC for basic tasks such as word processing, manipulating PDF files, spreadsheets, or even photo editing. However, it will be necessary to purchase the compatible keyboard sold separately. Given the price of the machine, this can make people cringe. The Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra is nevertheless an excellent device, the best Android tablet of the moment!

Apple iPad Pro 12.9 M2: The Best iPad Tablet

The iPad Pro M2 is a direct follow-up to its earlier version introduced by Apple. This model then marked the first use of the M1 processor. A chip with unequaled performance… until the arrival of the Apple M2 a year later! According to the firm at apple, this processor would be 18% more efficient than the previous one. The tests of the iPad Pro M2 seem to confirm this assertion.

Apart from the improved performance due to this technological change, the device remains very similar to its previous version. As always, Apple delights us with a minimalist design supported by clean lines and an ever-decreasing thickness. The tablet’s chassis is made of aluminum, and its 12.9-inch screen (clocked at 120 Hz) consists of a mini-LED panel. This upgrade guarantees high brightness and remarkable contrast (close to OLED). Please note that the 11-inch version of the screen does not have this display technology: the use of mini-LEDs is specific to the 12.9-inch version.

The photo component is also elegant, even more than the 2021 version. The front camera is now equipped with a 12 Mpx ultra-wide-angle sensor. At the rear, we still find a double system of photo sensors (12 and 10 Mpx, respectively).

However, if this tablet is attractive, it is not because it allows you to take pretty pictures, no! It is rather because it is close to a PC. It is also best for graphic designers and visual content creators. No Apple Pencil or Magic Keyboard is included in the purchase price. Additional costs are therefore to be expected… Enough to raise tension among some users…

Apple iPad Air M1 2022: The Best Alternative To The Pro Versions

The iPad Pro M2 appeals to you, but do you need more money? In this case, the iPad Air M1 2022 may reconcile you with the Apple brand! Marketed in 2022, this device embeds the Soc Apple M1, capable of matching the performance of certain MacBooks and other iPad Pro models.

Here, the Apple M1 replaces the Bionic chip that previously equipped Apple tablets. According to the manufacturer, this change would improve the device’s performance by 60%. The use of this tablet as a work tool is possible! But again, this will require the purchase of an optional keyboard.

As for the screen, its size remains unchanged: 10.9 inches. The display is in Full-HD, with a refresh rate of 60 Hz. More than adequate performance, although a ProMotion screen would have been preferable. On the other hand, the initial storage memory level is a little disappointing.

Only 64 GB of available space. Fortunately, the tablet makes up for it on all other points, particularly by offering compatibility with the 5G network. It also has two excellent photo sensors of 12 Mpx each (one at the front, the other at the back). Due to its performance and excellent value for money, this digital tool is the best alternative to the iPad Pro 2022!

Xiaomi Pad 5: Large Format, Low Price!

Xiaomi is entering the premium tablets market! Who would have believed it? This is good news since the brand keeps its guiding line: to offer a high-end experience at an affordable price. Thus, Xiaomi’s Pad 5 is positioned as a direct competitor to the iPad 9. The beginnings of the Chinese brand in the sector of touch pads are promising.

The Tab 5 has a high-quality 11-inch WQHD+ screen (16:10 aspect ratio) with LCD. The calibration is perfect, and the experience is fluid thanks to the refresh rate, which reaches the threshold of 120 Hz. A feat when you know that only high-end tablets offer this display frequency.

For its CPU, it uses the Qualcomm Snapdragon 860. A processor as efficient as it is fast, with more than convincing performance. The audio component is of high quality; good distribution is ensured by 4 Dolby Atmos speakers distributed at each corner. The photo part does not disappoint, with 4K video recording quality. What can you blame this tablet for if not its somewhat weak autonomy? Under the €400 mark, it isn’t easy to do better!

Huawei MatePad Pro 12.6: A Multitasking Digital Slate

Need to be more fond of Google services? Then this tablet is for you! Indeed, Huawei’s MatePad Pro 12.6 does not include any functionality related to Google. No Play Store, Gmail or Google Calendar, therefore. Instead, you’ll find the App Gallery and Huawei Mobile Services. Still trying to figure out if it’s worth it… This rather bold choice is an assumed decision on the part of the Chinese manufacturer, preferring to integrate its operating system (HarmonyOS 2) to manage the device’s interface.

As far as the hardware part is concerned, the tablet offers a giant 12.6 screen incorporating 2K definition OLED display technology. We only regret that the display frequency does not reach 120 Hz. Otherwise, the finishes are impeccable; in form, this digital slate almost resembles an iPad Pro! Unfortunately, the processor is not at the level of the Apple M2.

Still, the Kirin 9000E chip that equips this device does the job well. It offers 8 GB of RAM for 256 GB of storage space. Thought above all, for multimedia, this tablet can also be used as a productivity tool, so it will be necessary to buy a compatible keyboard. Finally, the MatePad Pro promises sufficient autonomy to last a week without recharging at 2 hours of use per day.

The promise is kept according to the statements of several users. On this point, it is Apple that should take an example. In short, this tablet will be an excellent choice if you are not put off by the absence of Google services!

Lenovo Tab P12 Pro: The Alternative To Samsung

Samsung’s hegemony over the stock of Android devices is indisputable. However, Lenovo is proving to be a serious competitor for the Korean brand. The Tab P12 Pro is proof of that! This large tablet competes with premium models, relying on its beautiful finishes and excellent quality AMOLED screen. Like Xiaomi’s Tab 5, it comes in a 16:10 aspect ratio with a screen size of 12.6 inches. Its refresh rate reaches 120 Hz but is not adaptive; too bad!

It has a Snapdragon 870 processor with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal memory. This processor gives the tablet record performance, surpassing the Galaxy Tab S7+! Its responsiveness is, therefore, excellent, both during multitasking and for mobile games. Its autonomy peaks, on average, around 17 hours of continuous use, which is fantastic. Another interesting detail, the Tab P12 Pro is compatible with 5G networks.

It can be used as a productivity tool, thanks to the excellent 3rd generation Precision Pen. In which case, its performance will be roughly equivalent to that of an iPad Pro 11, but with a reasonable hundred euros difference when buying!

Samsung Galaxy Tab S7+: A Severe Competitor To The iPad Pro

In the same vein as the Lenovo Tab 12 Pro, we find the Samsung Galaxy Tab S7+. This mobile device is an excellent alternative to the iPad Pro. It performs at all levels, except for autonomy: about 15 hours. For a 10,090 mAh battery, that’s a bit tight… Fortunately, charging is high-speed (up to 45 W), which counterbalances this negative point.

Its large 12.4-inch OLED screen is as bright as it is pleasant to use, especially with the S-Pen. Its display frequency reaches 120 Hz: nothing to complain about at this level. Equipped with an excellent processor, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865+, the tablet is very responsive. This Soc gives it 8 GB of RAM for 129 to 256 GB of storage memory, depending on the version.

On the photo side, the quality is correct, thanks to the primary sensor of 13 Mpx and an ultra-wide-angle sensor of 5 Mpx. Selfie enthusiasts will regret that the 8-megapixel front sensor is placed in the upper right corner of the screen. Add to that the four speakers distributed at the corners offer good sound reproduction. Perfect for watching your videos, series, and other films without headphones or earphones. This tablet will not replace a PC (it is not at the level of the Tab S8 Ultra), but it can improve your work efficiency.

Conclusion: Best Tablets

This overview of the best tablets will allow you to discover the different offers on the market. Of course, we could have included other models in this comparison, such as the Lenovo Yoga Tab 13, the Samsung Galaxy Tab7 FE, or the Realme Pad (a small tablet for less than 200 €). So don’t hesitate to research and explore the offers to find the best tablet that best suits your expectations (and your budget). That said, if you prefer to choose a model from this selection, you are unlikely to be disappointed.
